Pumpkin Patches North Texas

I don't know about you, but I can't believe it is already October!  Maybe its because the weather is still so warm...not that I'm complaining.  I'm a huge fan of warm weather!  Although I do like a nice hot chocolate and a stroll through a pumpkin patch in a nice warm cozy sweatshirt.  Which leads me to this post.   If you are looking for some pumpkin patches to visit, here are a few good ones that I have been to in the past.   McKinney - 5G Farm Texas - 6601 County Rd 166 McKinney.  Open Wednesday through Sundays in October.  They had the best Kettle Corn when we went last year.  www.5gfarmtx.com McKinney - Storybook Ranch Pumpkin Patch - 3701 S. Custer Rd, McKinney. www.storybookranch.org Melissa - Lola's Local Market - 1771 Kever Main, Melissa - They have a great selection of pumpkins and even have some Fall Vendor Days on Sundays.   Dallas - Autumn at the Arboretum - 8525 Garland Road, Dallas.  This whole place is amazing! ...

Tiny Homes Vacation - Denison Texas

Wow, I am really behind on my blog!  But I need to tell y'all about this place (before I even unpack)!  Also, make sure you are seeing  my Facebook page as I tend to share more there. Tiny Homes Vacation!   Let me just start that I am not a camping type of girl.  I am not a fan of bugs or anything that I would usually associate with the outdoors and camping.  But, this place...I love this place!   I heard about this location last year when they were in the building process and I thought it sounded cool.  Then this summer my daughter tore her ACL and we needed to think outside of the box for things that she could do, that would still be fun but not that far away.  I instantly remembered this location.   The cabins looked really cute, it was less than an hour from my house, it was 4 minutes from a pretty lake, had fire pits, and they had a pool!  Yes, a pool.  At a campsite!  Oh, and did I mention super soft comfy beds... in...

Vintage Market Days of Dallas - Mckinney

Have y'all heard about Vintage Market Days, if not this post is for you!  It is this weekend in McKinney, Texas at the Myers Park & Event Center.  Today was opening day, and if you have not been there yet it might be a place you want to check out.   You can purchase tickets online, but you can also get them in person at the gate.  There are 2 buildings and 2 entrances to encourage social distancing.  I was there with some friends today and there was plenty of space in the rows that we never felt like we were surrounded by many people.  While you are there, you do need to wear masks in the buildings.  And there are plenty of sanitizing stations all through the event which was really nice.   Hours are from 10am-4pm Saturday and Sunday.  The entrance fee is $7.00 and can be used to return as many times as you would like this weekend for no additional cost.  Parking is free and there are food vendors on site with outdoor sittin...

Tumbleweed TexStyles

Have y’all heard...Tumbleweed TexStyles is opening a flagship store in Frisco, and the Grand Opening is tomorrow!  If you haven’t heard of them yet, keep reading because this might just be the type of place you were looking for!   Something I noticed right away when I moved to Texas is the incredible hospitality and love of Texas that everyone has. So many people here love to host gatherings, and to have friends and family come to visit.  And so many times I hear people looking for the perfect Texas gift to give.  Something like a tee-shirt, hat, etc.  While there are many places you can find Texas items...Tumbleweed TexStyles looks like the best place to start! Some history on this company is that it all started in 2011 when Brian Wysong and Jeb Matulich (two local friends) decided to start a small business of making Texas apparel because of their love for Texas.  In the past 9 years this small business has grown and now their first flagship store is openi...

San Antonio

I don’t know about Y’all, but when I hear San Antonio I instantly think Riverwalk and The Alamo!  They just seem to go together.  I loved getting to go there a few times (pre-Covid) and can not wait to go back again.   Since I have a friend heading there soon that asked about a few ideas of things to do I thought “why not share my list with everyone!”  I’ve included links to each location for more information such as what they are about, the hours, and address. I will say that the bottom portion of this is the places that I want to explore during future trips (have not been to them yet).  But, hopefully, some you get to visit before me and let me know how they are, and if it’s something I "need to see". Let me start with the obvious, The Alamo.  It’s just a must-see when you are there.  So much history! Listen to the speakers inside because they have such great information to share, and will even point out all the original bullet holes in the walls....

Weinberger’s Deli- Grapevine

Yesterday I wrote about the free botanical garden in Grapevine.  Today I will tell you about a “must eat at” location practically around the corner from it!  Right in my favorite part of Grapevine....the Downtown (another must see). Weinberger’s Deli!  Voted “Best Chicago deli in the World...well, In Texas!!!”  And I would have to agree with the In Texas part!  I would love to say that this place is a hidden gem, but SO MANY people that knew I loved Grapevine told me that I needed to go here, that apparently it’s not a secret.  And now I am sharing it with you!  Go here if you are in Grapevine!! My family got 4 different items that we all ended up sharing because we all wanted to try everything (it all looked so good).  I got the Italian Beef (the most famous/most popular item).  And no joke, it was the best I have ever had!  We also got the Weinberger Reuben, a Gyro, and a Chicago Hot Dog.  I really should have taken pictures of th...
