Pumpkin Patches North Texas

I don't know about you, but I can't believe it is already October!  Maybe its because the weather is still so warm...not that I'm complaining.  I'm a huge fan of warm weather!  Although I do like a nice hot chocolate and a stroll through a pumpkin patch in a nice warm cozy sweatshirt.  Which leads me to this post.

If you are looking for some pumpkin patches to visit, here are a few good ones that I have been to in the past.

McKinney - 5G Farm Texas - 6601 County Rd 166 McKinney.  Open Wednesday through Sundays in October.  They had the best Kettle Corn when we went last year.  www.5gfarmtx.com

McKinney - Storybook Ranch Pumpkin Patch - 3701 S. Custer Rd, McKinney. www.storybookranch.org

Melissa - Lola's Local Market - 1771 Kever Main, Melissa - They have a great selection of pumpkins and even have some Fall Vendor Days on Sundays.

Dallas - Autumn at the Arboretum - 8525 Garland Road, Dallas.  This whole place is amazing!  Great to go to anytime of the year, and an incredible location for pictures.  But if you like pumpkins...they have a great display!  Www.dallasarboretum.org

Grapevine - Hall's Pumpkin Farm in Grapevine - 3420 Hall Johnson Road, Grapevine.  This was one of our favorite places.  It has a small corn maze and there were so many varieties of pumpkins to choose from. www.hallspumpkinfarm.net

Gunter - The Big Orange Pumpkin Farm at Preston Trail Farms - 15102 State Highway 289, Gunter.

Flower Mound - Flower Mound Pumpkin Patch - Double Oak Ranch.  Reservations are required.  www.flowermoundpumpkinpatch.com

Rockwall - Blase Family Farm - 1232 East Fork Drive, Rockwall.  www.blasefamilyfarm.com

Van Alstyne- Barton Farms Pumpkin Patch- has hay rides, bounce houses, etc.  www.bartonfarmstx.com

If you are looking to go a little further out of the area this one is a great place to check out:

Canton - Yesterland Farms - 15410 20, Canton TX 75103.  They have a great corn maze!  www.yesterlandfarm.com

There are still so many more places to check out.  These are just some family favorites.

Where have you been that you really liked?

Post Oak Creek - Fossil/Shark Teeth Hunt

Did y'all know that in Sherman Texas (about 30 minutes north of McKinney) there is a great spot to search for old shark teeth and fossils?  There were fossils everywhere.  Just pick a spot to sit and start scooping up rocks and you are bound to find something interesting!  Supposedly the old shark teeth are from 145 million years ago. (Some of our finds) We went with friends, because what better way is there to spend a gorgeous day outside (easily able to social distance), but still so much fun!  I mainly took pictures...because hey, it was just beautiful.  And because I love taking pictures of people having fun.  But everyone else was sifting rocks and enjoying hanging out in the water of the creek looking for shark teeth and cool fossils and rocks.  I couldn't believe how many they found!!  If you find something different here is a good link to see what it is:    http://northtexasfossils.com/sharks.htm Who knew that you could do someth...

Prairie Creek Park

Did y'all know that right here in North Texas there is a hidden waterfall?  It is tucked inside a wooded greenbelt park that has trails, bridges, and creeks....and it is located right in Richardson Texas.  Prairie Creek Park! The history of this park is that it was founded in 1966 and is one of the oldest and most historical parks in Richardson.  This area has been preserved to protect nature and wildlife habitats.  Beautiful park, and has a waterfall?!!  Y’all need to go see this place!  And I should mention that the waterfall is so easy to access.  It is very close to the street where you can park.  And it is pretty easy to find because before you can even see it you will hear it.  The sound of strong rushing water seems to echo through the trees.  And you can even walk over the top of the fall to get onto the trail! You can go and just see the waterfall but I highly recommend going for the walk through the trails.  It is so peace...

Tiny Homes Vacation - Denison Texas

Wow, I am really behind on my blog!  But I need to tell y'all about this place (before I even unpack)!  Also, make sure you are seeing  my Facebook page as I tend to share more there. Tiny Homes Vacation!   Let me just start that I am not a camping type of girl.  I am not a fan of bugs or anything that I would usually associate with the outdoors and camping.  But, this place...I love this place!   I heard about this location last year when they were in the building process and I thought it sounded cool.  Then this summer my daughter tore her ACL and we needed to think outside of the box for things that she could do, that would still be fun but not that far away.  I instantly remembered this location.   The cabins looked really cute, it was less than an hour from my house, it was 4 minutes from a pretty lake, had fire pits, and they had a pool!  Yes, a pool.  At a campsite!  Oh, and did I mention super soft comfy beds... in...
