Have y'all heard about Vintage Market Days, if not this post is for you! It is this weekend in McKinney, Texas at the Myers Park & Event Center. Today was opening day, and if you have not been there yet it might be a place you want to check out.

You can purchase tickets online, but you can also get them in person at the gate. There are 2 buildings and 2 entrances to encourage social distancing. I was there with some friends today and there was plenty of space in the rows that we never felt like we were surrounded by many people. While you are there, you do need to wear masks in the buildings. And there are plenty of sanitizing stations all through the event which was really nice.

Hours are from 10am-4pm Saturday and Sunday. The entrance fee is $7.00 and can be used to return as many times as you would like this weekend for no additional cost. Parking is free and there are food vendors on site with outdoor sitting areas, and live music. It's nice because you can shop for a while, grab something to eat, sit and listen to some music, and then continue to shop.

There are over 100 vendors that sell a variety of things. You can find home decor, holiday items, handmade gifts, antiques, fashion items, food, etc. There is a very wide variety of stuff.

If you like marketplace-type stores, shopping with friends, or just the hunt of finding unique items...you will enjoy going to this place!

Post Oak Creek - Fossil/Shark Teeth Hunt

Did y'all know that in Sherman Texas (about 30 minutes north of McKinney) there is a great spot to search for old shark teeth and fossils? There were fossils everywhere. Just pick a spot to sit and start scooping up rocks and you are bound to find something interesting! Supposedly the old shark teeth are from 145 million years ago. (Some of our finds) We went with friends, because what better way is there to spend a gorgeous day outside (easily able to social distance), but still so much fun! I mainly took pictures...because hey, it was just beautiful. And because I love taking pictures of people having fun. But everyone else was sifting rocks and enjoying hanging out in the water of the creek looking for shark teeth and cool fossils and rocks. I couldn't believe how many they found!! Prairie Creek Park

Did y'all know that right here in North Texas there is a hidden waterfall? It is tucked inside a wooded greenbelt park that has trails, bridges, and creeks....and it is located right in Richardson Texas. Prairie Creek Park! The history of this park is that it was founded in 1966 and is one of the oldest and most historical parks in Richardson. This area has been preserved to protect nature and wildlife habitats. Beautiful park, and has a waterfall?!! Y’all need to go see this place! And I should mention that the waterfall is so easy to access. It is very close to the street where you can park. And it is pretty easy to find because before you can even see it you will hear it. The sound of strong rushing water seems to echo through the trees. And you can even walk over the top of the fall to get onto the trail! You can go and just see the waterfall but I highly recommend going for the walk through the trails. It is so peace...

Tiny Homes Vacation - Denison Texas

Wow, I am really behind on my blog! But I need to tell y'all about this place (before I even unpack)! Also, make sure you are seeing my Facebook page as I tend to share more there. Tiny Homes Vacation! Let me just start that I am not a camping type of girl. I am not a fan of bugs or anything that I would usually associate with the outdoors and camping. But, this place...I love this place! I heard about this location last year when they were in the building process and I thought it sounded cool. Then this summer my daughter tore her ACL and we needed to think outside of the box for things that she could do, that would still be fun but not that far away. I instantly remembered this location. The cabins looked really cute, it was less than an hour from my house, it was 4 minutes from a pretty lake, had fire pits, and they had a pool! Yes, a pool. At a campsite!
