Third Monday Trade Days

Hey everyone!  It’s finally Friday!  I for one am thrilled.  I need a weekend and this one is going to be beautiful!

Have y’all ever been to Third Monday Trade Days in McKinney?!?  If not you really should try to find some time this weekend to check it out.  It’s such a fun place to just wander around, get some crafting ideas, or buy some fall decor, apparel, gifts, puppies.  Sorry, had to add the puppies.  It’s one of my favorite rows (I always want them all).

I love going here with friends, and seeing all the amazing craft ideas.  We always talk about all the great thing we now plan to make...and quickly realize a few days later we should have just bought it!  People are so talented!  And even if you aren’t in the mood to buy anything it is such a great place to just walk around.

It’s going on this weekend:

Friday (today) 8-4

Saturday/Sunday 8-5

Address: 4550 W University Drive

Next dates are:

October 16-18

Nov 13-15

Dec 18-20

Post Oak Creek - Fossil/Shark Teeth Hunt

Did y'all know that in Sherman Texas (about 30 minutes north of McKinney) there is a great spot to search for old shark teeth and fossils?  There were fossils everywhere.  Just pick a spot to sit and start scooping up rocks and you are bound to find something interesting!  Supposedly the old shark teeth are from 145 million years ago. (Some of our finds) We went with friends, because what better way is there to spend a gorgeous day outside (easily able to social distance), but still so much fun!  I mainly took pictures...because hey, it was just beautiful.  And because I love taking pictures of people having fun.  But everyone else was sifting rocks and enjoying hanging out in the water of the creek looking for shark teeth and cool fossils and rocks.  I couldn't believe how many they found!!  If you find something different here is a good link to see what it is:    http://northtexasfossils.com/sharks.htm Who knew that you could do someth...

Prairie Creek Park

Did y'all know that right here in North Texas there is a hidden waterfall?  It is tucked inside a wooded greenbelt park that has trails, bridges, and creeks....and it is located right in Richardson Texas.  Prairie Creek Park! The history of this park is that it was founded in 1966 and is one of the oldest and most historical parks in Richardson.  This area has been preserved to protect nature and wildlife habitats.  Beautiful park, and has a waterfall?!!  Y’all need to go see this place!  And I should mention that the waterfall is so easy to access.  It is very close to the street where you can park.  And it is pretty easy to find because before you can even see it you will hear it.  The sound of strong rushing water seems to echo through the trees.  And you can even walk over the top of the fall to get onto the trail! You can go and just see the waterfall but I highly recommend going for the walk through the trails.  It is so peace...

Tiny Homes Vacation - Denison Texas

Wow, I am really behind on my blog!  But I need to tell y'all about this place (before I even unpack)!  Also, make sure you are seeing  my Facebook page as I tend to share more there. Tiny Homes Vacation!   Let me just start that I am not a camping type of girl.  I am not a fan of bugs or anything that I would usually associate with the outdoors and camping.  But, this place...I love this place!   I heard about this location last year when they were in the building process and I thought it sounded cool.  Then this summer my daughter tore her ACL and we needed to think outside of the box for things that she could do, that would still be fun but not that far away.  I instantly remembered this location.   The cabins looked really cute, it was less than an hour from my house, it was 4 minutes from a pretty lake, had fire pits, and they had a pool!  Yes, a pool.  At a campsite!  Oh, and did I mention super soft comfy beds... in...
