I’m still getting the hang of having a blog, and finding time to post all of the events that are going on around here (while getting out and enjoying them). But, if you are looking for something to do tonight, here are three local events going on. It's not too late! I personally love last minute things that pop up when I can say, "hey, lets go check this out".

Frontier Park Prosper

Tonight from 6-8 PM
We Celebrate Because Of Him A Live Nativity will be going on at Frontier Park.
Address: 1551 Frontier Parkway Prosper.
Admission is free and refreshments will be provided.

Christmas Spectacular
Tonight 6-6:30 for the Tree Lighting and Show
Lighting of The Star 67-foot Christmas Tree with a 20 minute Christmas Cheer Show. This event is free and there will be a performance from the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders, Rhythm & Blue Dancers, and Mascot Rowdy, and Santa will be there as well.

McKinney Rotary Parade of Lights
Tonight 6:30
Address: Historic Downtown McKinney, 111 N Tennessee St McKinney
Dozens of floats, antique cars and performance groups. Event is presented by the McKinney Rotary Club.

Its been an absolutely beautiful day today, and it will be a great night to get out. As usual there are multiple things going on, but my family will be choosing between one of these! Hope you have been enjoying the season.

Post Oak Creek - Fossil/Shark Teeth Hunt

Did y'all know that in Sherman Texas (about 30 minutes north of McKinney) there is a great spot to search for old shark teeth and fossils? There were fossils everywhere. Just pick a spot to sit and start scooping up rocks and you are bound to find something interesting! Supposedly the old shark teeth are from 145 million years ago. (Some of our finds) We went with friends, because what better way is there to spend a gorgeous day outside (easily able to social distance), but still so much fun! I mainly took pictures...because hey, it was just beautiful. And because I love taking pictures of people having fun. But everyone else was sifting rocks and enjoying hanging out in the water of the creek looking for shark teeth and cool fossils and rocks. I couldn't believe how many they found!! Prairie Creek Park

Did y'all know that right here in North Texas there is a hidden waterfall? It is tucked inside a wooded greenbelt park that has trails, bridges, and creeks....and it is located right in Richardson Texas. Prairie Creek Park! The history of this park is that it was founded in 1966 and is one of the oldest and most historical parks in Richardson. This area has been preserved to protect nature and wildlife habitats. Beautiful park, and has a waterfall?!! Y’all need to go see this place! And I should mention that the waterfall is so easy to access. It is very close to the street where you can park. And it is pretty easy to find because before you can even see it you will hear it. The sound of strong rushing water seems to echo through the trees. And you can even walk over the top of the fall to get onto the trail! You can go and just see the waterfall but I highly recommend going for the walk through the trails. It is so peace...

Dallas Love Field Plane Spotting Location

If you ever need to go to Dallas Love Field Airport (or if you just have a kid that loves planes), y’all might want to check out Bachman Lake Park! It is a beautiful location, and happens to be right next to the airport. Dallas Love Field has 2 parallel runways and this lake runs right along the north edge of the airport. Here is a map of the lake to the airport. Southwest Airlines' planes usually land and depart from one runway, and Delta and United typically use the other runway. So if you are waiting for someone to arrive this might be a fun place to wait, so that you can watch their actual plane coming in for the landing. If you stay on Shorecrest Drive you get a really close view of the planes right above you, but either side of the lake is still a good spot to view them. And it is a public park, so anyone can go. When in the area my family likes to pick up some lunch, take it down to the park, and eat while watching planes come in...
